Hey there.

My hope is that you will meet vulnerability on the pages of my blog. I have seen too much suffering souls on this side of heaven to offer you anything less than that. I really want to meet you in your own middle story. Stories of happy endings are hard to hear when you are in the trenches of carrying your own thorns. I will share with you openly about the crosses I bear and I will offer you encouragement to carry yours.

I have always been a passionately extroverted person, however; God keeps using the quietness of writing to renew and revive my soul.  He has drawn closer to me as I explore the difficult topics surrounding chronic illness, waiting on God for answered prayers, grief, transition and other long-suffering spaces.

I will not pretend to have it all together. I will share few pictures of my house and home (believe me, on a regular weekday this will not inspire you), but promise to share earnestly the things God speaks to me through metaphor, poetry and narrative.

I hope you leave a little more hopeful, a little more resilient, and a little more able to show up to the life that you have, even if wasn’t the one you may have chosen.

Five more things about me:

1.  I hate Llamas. No really.

2.  My family and I are currently living in Malawi but are from Vancouver, Canada.

3. My husband and I have been married for 14 years.

4. I love contributing to women’s ministry.

5. I have never been able to touch my toes.

bonus: there are no Llamas in Malawi

The 4 kids that tolerate me as their Mom. The littlest one is a firecracker with crazy hair, the older gal is my creative emotional girl, my second oldest boy is thoughtful and kicks as hard as a kangaroo and my oldest son is the brilliant inventor who likes to chat. They make a lot of noise and give a lot of love.

When not writing you can find me:

Reading aloud to my kids.

Dragging aforementioned kids up mountains.

Working as a nurse and dreaming of ways to improve healthcare in Malawi.

Dabbling in creative mess making.

Outdoors adventuring of any kind. I am an unofficial explorer.

Drinking coffee, definitely drinking coffee.

Snacking on dark chocolate.

Researching ways to travel more.

Sharing deep conversations with other women.

Baking for people.
